Premium PLA

What it is: Plant-based bioplastic made from corn starch. Eco-friendly, food-safe, and beautifully matte.

Feels like: A premium ceramic or smooth wood — warm to the touch, slightly textured if you look up close.

Best for: Name signs, planters, coasters, keychains, gifting items, anything indoor.

Limitations: Don’t leave in a hot car (softens above 55°C). Not for outdoor use.

PLA+ (Tough)

What it is: Enhanced PLA with added impact resistance. Same matte finish, much stronger.

Best for: Items that get dropped — keychains, pet tags, phone stands, items for kids’ rooms.

Why we love it: Survives the bottom-of-a-bag treatment that regular PLA can’t.

Silk PLA

What it is: PLA with a high-gloss, almost metallic sheen. Comes alive under light.

Best for: Statement pieces, wall art, lamps where the surface itself becomes a feature.

Matte PLA

What it is: Deep, no-shine, premium finish. The kind that looks expensive in photos.

Best for: Lithophane lamps, corporate gifting, premium product lines, anything photographed for Instagram.

PETG

What it is: The plastic of water bottles — food-safe, waterproof, slightly flexible.

Best for: Planters (won’t crack when soil expands), outdoor pieces, anything that touches water.

Specialty filaments

Wood-fill: Real wood fibres mixed with PLA. Smells faintly of wood. Sandable.

Marble-fill: Speckled marble look. Heavier feel. Premium pieces.

Glow-in-the-dark: Charged in light, glows green for hours. Magical for kids’ rooms.

Translucent: Light passes through. Perfect for lithophane lamps.

ABS: Tougher, heat-resistant. For functional pieces. By request only.
